Why Lifestyle Changes Can’t Wait

If you provide your body with basic ingredients for health, and remove things that are interrupters of health, it knows what to do.

Everything will reset, including your immune system, digestive system, hormones, detoxification system and more.

Why is stress an issue?
If you're under chronic stress, your appetite gets disregulated, you produce higher levels of cortisol – [a hormone] that drives insulin resistance – and you produce more inflammation, [all of which are factors in diabesity].

You write that environmental toxins are another cause of diabesity. How can you rid yourself of them?
Your body has a natural cleansing system. You metabolize things through your liver, process things through your kidneys, sweat, breath and poop. These are all ways you excrete toxins.

Certain foods are very detoxifying. The whole broccoli family – including cabbage, collards, kale, Brussels sprouts – is "super-vegetables"; they're powerful detoxifying compounds. Ginger, arugula and turmeric are also great detoxifiers.

Also, you should eat enough fiber to eliminate toxins in your gut.

Sweating in a sauna is also helpful.
