For Better Heart Health, This Is the Right Way to Exercise

Whether you are kick-boxing, doing old Tae Bo videos, taking a barre class, or just running on a treadmill while you watch your favorite sitcom, the ultimate truth is that exercise is a must-do if you want the benefits. Get it into your routine, get used to it, and you will learn to love it.

Figure out if you are a morning or night person, and whether you like to exercise alone or in a group.

Then, you can figure out how you are most likely to stay with the program. If you are not a morning person, then planning a 5 a.m. workout routine will never work! Instead, head to the gym on the way home from work.

Most importantly, don't let exercise intimidate you. It doesn't have to be complicated. Just stick to the basics, push yourself just enough, and have fun.

Moving is life!

Just figure out how you can best find the time and the way you feel best moving. Start there.

Next, breathe heavier, sweat, and feel your heart rate increase. Feel how much good you are doing for yourself. That's the most important part of the equation. Then, increase as tolerated.

Exercise is an act of self-love, so get to the lovin'!
